A design drawn from carvings by Grinling Gibbons master woodcarver 1628-1721. His carvings can be found at Windsor Castle, Petworth, St Paul's, Hampton Court, St James. Born in Rotterdam he worked in England most of his life. This design includes the pea-pods which were always included; if left open, it meant he had not been paid.


Roger would use and easel and balance his hand on a marl stick when working on designs of this size.
